man kann sich tim mislocks debŸtalbum -now is the last best time- auf zwei weisen nŠhern. rein musikalisch betrachtet handelt es sich um ein von der gitarre dominiertes ambient-werk. mit seinen organisch flie§enden klanglandschaften ist es hšrbar von grš§en wie brian eno, stars of the lid oder eluvium beeinflusst, was hier durchaus als kompliment verstanden werden darf. abgerundet werden die sechs tracks durch minimal-einflŸsse eines max richters oder jonny greenwoods. jenseits der musik ist es mislock aber auch ein konzeptionelles anliegen, mit seinen kompositionen auf die krankheit alzheimer aufmerksam zu machen. -i wanted to raise awareness of the disease-, so der musiker. mit alzheimer kam er durch die erkrankung seines stiefvaters in kontakt. alzheimer ist eine schwere erkrankung des gehirns und die hŠufigste form der demenzerkrankung. in deutschland werden jŠhrlich rund 120.000 diagnosen gestellt. tendenz: steigend! fŸr familienmitglieder ist alzheimer eine extreme belastung, und so war es auch bei mislocks mutter, die sich aufopferungsvoll um ihren mann kŸmmerte. und auch daran dockt -now is the last best time- an: -i also wanted to develop a historical document to thank my mother and tell her that her generosity and kindness have not gone unnoticed.-

for signal life #03, we teamed up two young vigorous south londoners: mr. louis carnell, known by his moniker visionist, and mr. marco giuliani, who works under the alias last japan. >control this< by visionist combines his background in south london grime with his signature drum machine template and lo-fi vocal excerpts into a coherent mesh. our favourite visionist track to date! when we first heard >storm trooper< by last japan, it was the tension we got caught up in. the song is focused with a clear direction, uncommon in most young talent, armed with a driving snare-fill rhythm reminiscent of south rap and all that exiting stuff in the 160 bpm. i believe murky is the correct term. we predict interesting things for mr. giuliani.
